| I received my B.A. from the College of Wooster ('76), M.A. from Kent State University ('77), and Doctorate from the College of William and Mary in Virginia ('85). I am a Professor of Philosophy at Mary Baldwin College in Staunton, Virginia where I have taught Philosophy and Religion, advised students, and participated in college governance for the past twenty-one years. Last year I served as the Acting Dean of the College; this year I am the "College Marshal."(Please don't ask to see my badge and weapon!)
I enjoy traveling, choral singing, community and college drama, Welsh culture and language and am active in a variety of church and community organizations. In my spare time I coach Daniel's (my 9 year old son) soccer team, coach my college's "ethics debate team," and root for Evan's (my 14 year old son) soccer and basketball teams. My oldest son, Bryn (17), is a senior and is actually enjoying both Latin and Honors Physics; he is applying to colleges now. My wife, Linda, is a third grade teacher and has worked as an elementary school counselor as well. She has her M.Ed. from the Univ. of Virginia. Perhaps her greatest achievement is putting up with four boys on an intimate, daily basis! Nevertheless, Linda and I celebrate our 25th anniversary in June 2002. |
