Class of 1972 - Nancy E. Hoopes

I began attending Mt. Gilead in the 8th grade. My family moved to MG from Alliance, Ohio. After graduation, I lived in Canada, Florida, and for the last 15 years, I have lived in N. Carolina. I now operate a satellite TV business. (Satellite Vision of NC) Back in 86 I answered a newspaper ad to sell cable TV, and from that job and 10 years of climbing that corporate ladder, the company was sold. My daughter was grown, I was free to pursue anything my heart desired (first time since I graduated MGHS), so I took a chance and started a business. Satellites were new, cable was old news, so I rented an office and hung out a sign. It has been the greatest thing that has happened to me since my daughter was born. Oh, I have thoroughly enjoyed it, and feel so blessed. But actually, I really owe everything to the great people that work with me. Without them Satvis wouldn't still be here. I am grateful to them. My daughter, Monique, was born on Nov. 26, 1975. She has been my greatest blessing. She has graduated from cosmetology school and works here in Raleigh. I enjoy gardening, traveling, and spending time with my daughter and friends.
