I received a B.F.A. in Industrial Design from the College of Art Design and worked as a graphic/signage designer for several years. Then I went back to school to get certified to teach elementary school. I have taught 5th grade for the past seven years and I love it! (Most days). After teaching pre-pubescent children all day, I don't have a lot of energy left for many hobbies, but I still love to read, took up yoga a little while ago, work in our 2 acre-plus yard on the weekends (it never gets done), think about doing ceramics, and dream about the summer. I also spend time letting our Golden Retriever, Lucy, in and out. I am still married to John, who works in the Charlotte office of a national architectural firm, Perkins and Will. We have one son, Sam, who was born Aug. 17, 1986. Sam is a sophomore in high school and is into drums! He has a garage band and tells me he is going to be famous. We have no grandchildren (thank God!).
