| I received my B.S. and M.A. in Education from OSU. I've been in teaching for 23 years. After teaching junior high language arts at MGJHS for 15 years, I've finally quit trying to be a mixture of Mable Wells Burns and Julia Shirk. I'm now teaching Title I reading to first, second, and third graders for Mt. Gilead Schools. I enjoy reading, walking, antiquing, visiting flea markets, and my family.
My husband, Rick, is the Membership Services Director for the Ohio Valley Automotive Aftermarket Association in Hilliard, Ohio. We have two sons Cory, born Dec. 21, 1977, and Kurtis, born Sept. 21, 1979. Both our boys have married Mt. Gilead girls but it hasn't kept them close to home. Cory will graduate with a ministerial degree from Bluefield College of Evangelism in Bluefield, WV in May 2002. He married Farah Scott Campbell (parents Ron & Bonnie Scott) 8-23-97. They live in Bluefield where Cory pastors a small church and works at a Bible camp. Farah works for an insurance company. Kurtis graduated from Wright State University in June of 2001 with a degree in Business Management. He married Sarah Curts (parents Steve & Joanna Curts) 6-24-2000. They live in Cedarville, OH where Sarah attends Cedarville University. Sarah will graduate with a nursing degree in June 2002. Kurtis works as an accountant for Brown Tax Consulting, Inc. in Dayton, OH. He has been accepted to Moody Bible Institute graduate school, so he and Sarah will be moving to Chicago by fall, 2002. Since the boys left the nest and following their sports can no longer be used as an excuse to get his sports fix, Rick has become a track & cross country official. He uses this as an excuse to stay away from home most evenings and Saturdays from March to May and Saturdays through the fall. We aren't grandparents yet, but figure that as the kids complete school that status won't be too far off. |
